Fine Drinking

Somehow I missed this in the New York Times on Wednesday. There’s an article by Frank Bruni about people who drink too much at fine dining establishments. In it, he also mentions an intriguing book by a former waiter at Per Se called Service Included: Four-Star Secrets of an Eavesdropping Waiter. It’s an interesting read for anyone that enjoys fine dining. I’m sad to say I haven’t seen anything as crazy as described in the article, but I did enjoy this quote by a former sommelier at Daniel about a woman using a pole like a stripper:

She was not necessarily attractive or young, so it was disruptive. If she were beautiful, it might have been different. People might have been cheering her on.
